Such an interesting building. Fairy-tale like.
Thank you Karen!
The building on the right is a traditional barn from the north of Spain. It has four “legs” and each of them has a flat stone (round or square as in this case) on the top and the stair (also of stone) do not reaches to the top to prevent rodents can go in and ruin the food stored inside.
I agree, an interesting building. Great method of keeping the rodents out! Marvellous shot.
Thank you very much!
Those “buildings” are spread out over the countryside in Asturias and similar ones are found in Galicia. They are very old and one of the most interesting features is that they are made only with wood (appart from the tiles in the roof), no metals at all, all the nails and joints are made out of wood.
